~ Leucanthemum superbum 'Crazy Daisy'
Shasta Daisy ~
Full of surprises and always fresh! Each plant from this novelty shasta daisy strain is different. All are fully double. Expect flat blooms with petals of uneven lengths, petals that recurve inward towards the center, wiry cactus-like quills as tightly packed as toothbrush silks.
Crazy Daisy is a widely available perennial sold in packs. It is also a common sight in seed catalogues. Growing from seed gives the gardener the opportunity to select favorites from a larger number of flower types.
It is so easy to start indoors, and to harden off as to be recommended for children.
Reaching a height of 60-80 cm, Crazy Daisy is ideal for beds, borders and even containers. Container planted specimens may be transplanted in the garden in the fall, as it is a hardy perennial. Make sure to give them plenty of sun, and bring in these long-lasting beauties as cut flowers.
